Internet is needed to retrieve new online legal sources, download the Engine or updates, and periodically validate subscription licenses. Subscription licenses allow up to seven days offline between successful validations. Sharing with an office hub requires a connection to that hub.

No. Open a Research workspace and start with a legal question. Explore a potential case, develop an argument, or investigate an issue before opening a matter. Your research is saved separately, and you can convert it into a matter when you are ready.

Analyze selected pleadings and related documents for claims, admissions and denials, affirmative defenses, procedural issues, requested relief, support gaps, and discovery priorities. The resulting analysis links back to the selected source documents and can be exported to Word.

No. Document processing, OCR, retrieval, and AI drafting run locally. There is no cloud-AI fallback. Optional online research sends legal search terms and source requests to research services; it does not upload your client documents for AI processing. Firm-selected Office Sync keeps shared work within your own infrastructure.

Search case law and available federal filings, and retrieve supported federal statutory, regulatory, and legislative material, plus state legislative records. Research can look for supporting authority, contrary authority, exceptions, and later citing decisions. Available text and coverage vary by source and jurisdiction; this is not a claim that every court filing is available or a substitute for a comprehensive citator.

CourtListener case-law access uses your firm's own API token. Setup includes instructions for creating a free account. Other supported public-law connections are built into the app.

Yes. Licensing is per computer, not per attorney profile. Create multiple local users and attorney profiles on a licensed workstation. Each additional computer needs its own licensed seat.

Yes. Office Sync connects licensed workstations to a firm-controlled office hub. Your firm chooses the host and storage location. User accounts and private-matter permissions determine who can access each matter.

Yes. Briefs, motion templates, memo outlines, and pleading analyses can be exported as editable .docx files. Matter and filer details populate the document, with federal, standard state, or numbered-pleading layouts. Open the file in a compatible word processor for final edits and filing review.

Complete secure checkout, then download the installer for your computer. Your license details arrive by email. Activate the app and complete setup while the Engine downloads with resumable progress. The subscription begins billing after the trial unless cancelled under the terms shown at checkout. Manage billing through the link provided with your order.

Cancellation changes your subscription entitlement; it does not delete your firm's local matter folders or exported Word files. Access to licensed app features depends on your license status. Your firm remains responsible for backups and records retention.

A Charter license is a one-time purchase for one computer, with permanent access to this major product release and one year of updates. Each firm may purchase up to two Charter computer licenses while available. Later major releases are not included in that permanent-access promise. The seven-day trial applies to subscriptions, not Charter purchases.
